Foster Coordinator
Location: This is an administrative position you can do from home, and it would be helpful if you are located in Tulsa.
The Foster Coordinator will be responsible for onboarding and supporting foster homes, ensuring that dogs are placed in the right environments during their time with us. This position involves managing the day-to-day logistics of foster placements, coordinating communication between fosters and the rescue team, and ensuring that each dog receives the care they need to thrive in a home environment until they find their forever families.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen potential foster homes to ensure they meet our requirements and are a good match for the needs of the dogs in our care.
- Guide new & potential fosters through the onboarding process and provide them with our Foster FAQs.
- Work with HH’s team to coordinate the hound’s placement in a foster home, considering the hound’s energy level, age, temperament, and medical needs, matched with the foster family’s experience.
- Maintain regular communication with foster families, & serve as a point of contact for them, offering ongoing support and answering questions, addressing any concerns, and providing advice on dog behavior, health issues, and training (as needed).
- Assist in creating social media content and writing bios to raise awareness about adoptable dogs.
- Track foster dogs’ progress, behavior observations, and update their profiles with relevant information and photos.
- Assist with transport coordination when dogs need to be moved between foster homes or to adoption events.
Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate in a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor with foster families, volunteers, and the rescue team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills & the ability to manage multiple foster homes at once.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when handling foster agreements, medical information, and dog profiles.
Working Conditions
- You must have a laptop or a computer and be willing to learn our software.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs when handling dog crates, supplies, etc.
